Metropolitan Detention Center, Guaynabo is a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. An administrative facility, MDC Guaynabo houses males and females. It is located 6 miles (9.7 km) west of San Juan. It is located at the intersection of Road 28 and Road 165, off of Puerto Rico Highway 22. It is located in the district covering Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.[1] MDC Guaynabo opened in 1993, and it is adjacent to Fort Buchanan, a U.S. Army base.[2]
